Ad VAP in Theory — Art Dept

The Department of Art at the University of California, Riverside, expects an opening for a temporary Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) in Art Theory for the 2020-2021 academic year. Position is contingent upon the availability of funding and may require ability to teach remotely as needed. The course load for this position would be two courses in Theory. This position has a salary of approximately $10,500 per course.
We are looking for a candidate with an ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate students in UCR’s diverse practice-based arts environment and welcome applicants with expertise in critical theory and a comprehensive engagement with contemporary art practices as evidenced by publications and teaching experience. Based on qualifications we may consider splitting the appointment between individuals. Applicants should be well grounded in art history as well. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate instruction (one lower-division and one upper-division course), as well as undergraduate advising and graduate reviews. Additional duties include some departmental service as well as meetings with graduate students.
The courses listed may vary in number and quarter of offering. M.F.A. or equivalent degree, and one year of teaching experience or equivalent at the college or university level are required. Equivalent experience refers to teaching experience as a TA or career experience that is commensurate to an academic environment.

The School of Arts and Humanities at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a tenure-system Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts with a specialization in 3D Art/Sculpture.

The successful candidate must have an earned MFA in 3D studio practice and theory and be well-versed in working with a variety of materials and methods employing both traditional applications and contemporary processes.
