The Soul In Space is Open for Submissions

I’m Sen the founder of The Soul In Space, a Black & Indigenous space that focuses on wellness, creating, & education. We are currently open for submissions for The Soul In Space mag which has a goal much like our mission statement; to create a space that spotlights Black and Indigenous creatives and to spark conversations surrounding Decolonization, Black Liberation, and Indigenous Sovereignty.

We are looking for a variety of submissions for our first issue (Issue 01); creative non-fiction, essays, poetry, fiction, etc… There is also the option for other forms of art like music, videography, digital art, and other methods of visual art.

Vassar Review Call For Entry

Connecting Art & Law for Liberation

Please save the date of April 16-17, 2021 for UCLA’s virtual Connecting Art & Law for Liberation (CALL) Festival, a collaboration between the UCLA Prison Education Program, UCLA School of Law’s Criminal Justice Program and the Prison Law & Policy Program. The CALL Festival will connect artists, activists, attorneys, advocates, and scholars for a Virtual Conference featuring innovative collaborations at the intersection of art and the law! We will build community, re-energize and play, while developing visionary strategies to end mass incarceration–with participants from college campuses, community, and carceral spaces.

Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program 2021

The application for our Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship is now live and we would appreciate if you could share the info with your students. For those interested, it is a paid internship in Summer 2021 with placements in areas such as curatorial, conservation, education, publications, and public programs.  Training and work may be conducted remotely in accordance with Getty’s COVID-19 policies. Applicants must be available to report to work in person, but may not need to until onsite programs resume.

Residency Opportunity at the ACA

Suzanne Bocanegra is currently looking for students to take part in a residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.

Atlantic Center for the Arts is an innovative nonprofit artists-in-residence program that provides artists with an opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world’s masters in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Since the program began in 1982, over 3500 artists have been served from the US and around the world.

Suzanne Bocanegra is looking for curious students in students who are interested in poking around in disciplines other than photography — but also photography. Current undergrads and alumni are welcome to apply.
