SAN Performing Arts Residency 24-25

Tuesday, April 30th, 2024

San Diego International Airport’s Arts Program just announced not one, but two, opportunities for our Performing Arts Residency for the 2024-2025 year.

We are inviting arts groups, collectives, organizations, companies, and higher education performing arts departments to submit proposals for our 2024-2025 residencies. One residency is expected to begin in the fall/winter of 2024, and one in spring 2025. The Performing Arts Residency Program supports the development and public performance of new work. It offers artists the space to create and rehearse new material while providing SAN patrons a unique opportunity for interaction through the performing arts. This process-oriented residency is open to contemporary performing artists in all disciplines and cross-disciplinary media including digital performance and projection. Examples of programming may include local, regional and international music, modern, traditional or ethnic dance, as well theatrical productions inspired by or developed in response to the airport setting.
Two contracts for $15,000 will be awarded for an 18-week residency period.

Artist Studios Available in Downtown LA

Thursday, April 25th, 2024

Pico Studios is a newly renovated artist loft building located near the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles. The studios are in a beautiful historic building. We love the area because it’s very calm compared to most of downtown. It has a common shared kitchen and dining area. The building has beautiful exposed brick and has been renovated to the standards of a gallery. Huge ceilings, hardwood floors, and patinaed steel beams. Gallery Finish Walls. There is a parking lot attached the building for reserved spots. Newly Renovated clean artist studio with beautiful features. Shared kitchen. Incredible natural light. Great as photo or painter studio.

Great as a shared space for multiple artists.

There are a few units available right now ranging from $775-$2500 monthly in various sizes. Please reach out for more information.
