Painter needed for Custom Painting

Friday, May 26th, 2017

Greetings Painters,

I am looking to hire a Painter to custom paint 2 photo images that I recently posed for on the beautiful beaches of Miami, FL.

My idea vision is for these paintings to be in canvas art or come to life realistic paintings. I am willing to compensate and I would like to have these paintings by the end of July or sooner. Or, early August.

I’m looking for a Painter that is confident in their level of work to bring to life what they also see when creating these pieces. Such as colors or creative ideas and make them come to life! (more…)

Call for Papers: 13th International Conference on the Arts in Society

Monday, May 22nd, 2017

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the Thirteenth International Conference on the Arts in Society, held 27–29 June 2018 at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, Canada.

Founded in 2000, the conference offers an interdisciplinary forum for discussion of the role of the arts in society. It is a place for critical engagement, examination and experimentation, developing ideas that connect the arts to their contexts in the world—on stage, in studios and theaters, in classrooms, in museums and galleries, on the streets, and in communities.

We invite proposals for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, colloquia, virtual posters, or virtual lightning talks. The conference features research addressing the annual themes. (more…)

Open Call for Billboard Proposals – 14×48

Thursday, May 11th, 2017

We are currently accepting submissions for our annual open call, and would like to share the application information with the UCLA student community.

Each chosen billboard is accompanied by a supplement which serves to bring the artists’ work into the public sphere. Previous projects have included an artist talk at the International Center of Photography, a collaboration with New York City Housing Authority residents, and classes taught at Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education, among others. Although we are based in New York, several previous artists have not been local, and we can incorporate innovative ideas from individuals in other locations.

Every year we strive to push the boundaries of how public art can exist and who it can serve. We are looking forward to this year’s submissions, and want to extend this opportunity to the next generation of artistic talent. (more…)
