Call for Applicants – FORUM 2018 TORRANCE ART MUSEUM

A free, nine month long, mentoring program for those that wish to build a career in the contemporary visual arts but lack a prolonged experience with professional art world activities. This empowering program is designed as a practical guide to navigating the art world via Q&A sessions with successful professionals (artists, curators, critics and gallerists), culminating with an exhibition, in Gallery Two of the Torrance Art Museum, with the program’s participants. The artists will show their work, the curators will select which works, the writers will write essays for the catalog and gallerists will run the opening and PR for it.

Visitor Services Associates – MARCIANO ART FOUNDATION

We are seeking associates to facilitate the experience of all visitors to MAF. The visitor services associates will create a friendly environment while also overseeing ticketing, gallery experience and safety and security of both artworks and visitors. This is a part-time position and candidates must be available during weekends and some holidays. MAF will be open Thursday–Friday, 11am–5pm, Saturday, 10am–6pm. Beginning March 1st, the foundation will be open Sunday, 11am-5pm. Please note that MAF closes for installation several times annually. (more…)
