On Sunday, July 9th, 2017, the Arts District is planning our second annual Summer Soiree, a fundraiser to raise money so we can paint more murals on our Gaffey Great Street.
We will be honoring Camilla Townsend, Annette Ciketic and Judith Blahnik – three women who have been key players in the formation of the Arts District.
The event will feature chef made foods, live music, an art sale and four live artists whose work will be auctioned at the end of the fundraiser.
The work for sale will be hung from the sprinkler pipes in the beautiful art deco loft (our venue for the fundraiser).
We are looking for artists who are willing to show their work and offer it for sale. If your work is sold, the Arts District will give 50% of the proceeds to the participating artists.
All framed or matted artwork submitted must be ready to hang and be equipped with wire or d-rings. Each artist may submit up to four pieces. Prints are acceptable.
Drop off of the art for sale will be June 16 and17 at Gallery Azul, 520 West 8th Street, San Pedro, between noon and 4:00pm. A walk thru of the display space will be held on Friday, June 16th at 3:00pm.
Artwork not sold during the fundraiser will be available for retrieval on Monday, July 10th between noon and 6:00pm. Artwork not claimed will become the property of the Arts District and used for future fundraisers. Although the event organizers and volunteers will make every effort to protect your art and handle it with extreme care, and we don’t anticipate ever leaving your art work unattended, the Arts District volunteers or staff members are not responsible for theft or damage to your art.
