Student Photographer needed: Volunteer opportunity in museum curation:
The UCLA Mathias Botanical Garden is looking for a photographer to assist on a garden inventory project. We are currently working on a project conducting an exhaustive inventory of the garden and updating the digital database. Part of updating the digital database is including several photographs of each plant.
We are looking for a UCLA student photographer to assist the Living Collections Curator by capturing high quality photos of plants in the garden to include in the gardens digital database and potentially on the gardens website. This is a great opportunity for students to build their portfolio, gain experience in museum curation, and gain experience photographing nature. Photo credit will be given on all photos presented to the public.
The student would be asked to spend roughly 2 hours per week photographing plants and working with the Living Collections Curator to incorporate the photos into the digital database. If interested reach out to Dr. Josh Brindley at Joshbrindley@UCLA.edu
