CALPIRG at UCLA invites you to participate in CALPIRG’s ocean-themed art competition! We are hosting an art contest to raise awareness for ocean conservation in California!
We are urging the state to expand protections to 30% of the coastline by 2030 as recommended by experts to mitigate the harmful effects of offshore drilling and overfishing. The Fish & Game Commission is currently in a decadal review process of California’s network of Marine Protected Areas, so it’s now or never to fight for our oceans!
View guidelines and submit your ocean-themed original art here by May 26 at 4pm, and we will present your art on June 2nd in front of Kerckhoff for the public to vote on. The top three artists will win a prize!
Hope you’d like to participate! Feel free to email me at claracastronovo@g.ucla.edu, or dm us on Instagram @calpirgucla if you have questions. Looking forward to seeing your art!
