UCLA Center for Reproductive Science, Health & Education (CRSHE) is seeking talented painters or photographers to execute a medium/large-sized art piece as part of the opening of its main office suite located in the Biosciences Research Building (BSRB). The final project will be unveiled during the office’s official opening event, which will include the CRSHE leadership team and its members from across campus. Images of the art work will also be featured in the center’s publications and promotional materials.
The art piece should be designed to include elements related to reproductive health and science. The CRSHE website can provide some ideas for initial designs and inspiration – the selected artist will work closely with the CRSHE leadership team to realize the final vision. Ideal candidates must possess strong drawing or painting or photography skills, be able to deliver drafts, color tests on paper and/ or photoshop, and if applicable be able to work in pencil, paint, and use projectors as well as work comfortably with their free hand. The final piece will be displayed in BSRB.
Candidates are encouraged to submit 5-10 clear, high resolution images of their work in .jpg format. Images should be accompanied by a brief cover letter where each candidate discusses their interests, process, experience, preferred materials, and other relevant qualifications. Adequate means of transportation to execute the work on site is strongly encouraged. Candidates must be reliable, inspired, and detail-oriented. Compensation of $8,000 and credit offered.
