Studio Research Internship

Contemporary artist and CalArts professor Sharon Lockhart is currently seeking a motivated and organized studio intern for Summer 2019. This is a learning internship where collaboration and your voice are encouraged. You will work directly with the artist and assist with archiving, production, research, and day-to-day administration. This is a unique opportunity to learn about both the creative and operational aspects of an exceptionally busy yet lively and collaborative artist studio.
A background in art history and/or fine arts, particularly photography and/or film, is preferred. This will be a research intensive internship and you will be required to research a variety of subjects online and in print. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office or equivalent. Filemaker a plus. This is an unpaid internship, but it can be completed for school credit. You are preferred if you have a car. The studio is also seeking a Polish speaking intern to assist with projects based out of Warsaw. Lunch is provided, as is gas reimbursement for studio errands. Two six-hour days per week are generally required, though the studio offers flexibility with advance notice. This internship will start as soon as you are available or by 5/1/19 and run until the beginning of September.
