PlySpace is an artist-in-residence program based in Muncie, Indiana, and is led by the Muncie Arts & Culture Council. Dedicated to offering visual artists, writers, performers, designers, and other creative individuals time and space to investigate and pursue their own practices, it also serves as a platform for experimentation and provocation by catalyzing conversation and collaboration with various Muncie communities. PlySpace facilitates opportunities for residents to engage with the public through partnership and programming that is tailored to their area of interest. PlySpace is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
PlySpace Residents:
- Stay on the premises at PlySpace for 4-12 weeks
- Work on a personal project of their choosing
- Work with a community collaborative partner and complete a community-based project while in residence
PlySpace Residents receive:
- Provisional access to the Ball State University School of Art facilities
- 24-hour access to personal studio spaces
- Personal living space with a community kitchen
- Travel and living stipends
- Selected Resident Fellows receive additional living and project funding
- Access to local professional artists, development opportunities, and a supportive creative community in Muncie
