Santa Monica Cultural Affairs is excited to invite local, regional, national, and international artists/teams to submit qualifications for a prequalified artists roster. The artist roster, a curated shortlist of artists, will enable Cultural Affairs to connect talented artists/teams creating unique, innovative, and transformative works to projects of varying scales, timelines, and artistic disciplines in the city of Santa Monica.
Our request for qualifications is open to all artists, social practitioners, heritage holders, designers, architects, or teams engaged with public art, site responsive design, and community engaged design practices. There are six categories of specialization artists/teams can submit for consideration. Artists/teams can apply to be considered for multiple categories:
- Public Art (permanent & temporary)
- Social/Civic Practice
- Media Arts
- Murals
- Design
- Infrastructure Art
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed four times a year. The next deadline for applications is March 29, 2019, by 10:59 PM PST. For application-related questions, please email Chris Guerra at chris.guerra@smgov.net, with “Roster – Question” in the subject line.
