STUDIO INTERN – CNC OPERATOR
Kaari Upson Studio is currently seeking a Studio Intern to work as a CNC Operator for an Axiom AutoRoute 8.
Primary responsibilities include:
– Cutting material (typically MDF) to size for each specific job
– Properly mounting substrate to the CNC table
– Changing bits and spindle speed for specific applications
– Monitoring CNC operation and intervening if necessary
– Cleaning, oiling, and performing regular maintenance for the machine on a regular basis
– Maintaining the dust collection system
Ideal candidates would be:
– Available two to three days a week, between Monday and Friday, from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
– Have previous CNC operation and programming experience
– Have ready access to a car
Compensation:
– $15 / hour
– Lunch provided
– Mileage reimbursement for any travel using a personal vehicle to do specific tasks related to primary responsibilities
– (If applicable) Studio support to complete paperwork for school credit
Ideal start date is June 1, 2018.
