The application for our Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship is now live and we would appreciate if you could share the info with your students. For those interested, it is a paid internship in Summer 2021 with placements in areas such as curatorial, conservation, education, publications, and public programs.  Training and work may be conducted remotely in accordance with Getty’s COVID-19 policies. Applicants must be available to report to work in person, but may not need to until onsite programs resume.

Come On Out – Summer Japan Internship

We are launching Come On Out – Japan’s 6th Annual Global English Camp Summer Internship Program and extending our invitation to top Universities and Japanese high school students for a cross-cultural learning experience. Learn more at a Friday, 10/30 at 6 PM PST. or at future webinars – to be released via our newsletter.

We are currently seeking university students and recent graduates with native level English skills who are passionate about Japanese culture, gaining global experience, and mentoring others. They will be offered the opportunity to come to Japan for five weeks from mid-July to late August, 2021. Although this is an unpaid internship, the sponsor is providing certain expenses for each intern who participates in the six-week program. Airfare, lodging, meal and transportation subsidies will be provided. The program also offers optional Japanese language classes, field trips and an overnight trip. These additional opportunities are all designed to add cultural enrichment to your summer abroad experience.

18th Street Arts is hiring a Sam Francis Oral History Fellow

18th Street Arts Center seeks a part-time, graduate-level media fellow for media production and archiving work around the contemporary art history of Santa Monica. More info can be found here: https://18thstreet.org/employment-opportunities/

As part of our partnership with the Sam Francis Foundation, 18th Street Arts Center will work with the Sam Francis Oral History Archive to provide edited media and storytelling for both of our organizations with a specific focus on the Santa Monica arts community connected to Francis and Lapis Press. This Fellow would oversee the production of 20-30 interview clips that would be added to our Culture Mapping 90404 project, a narrative “Story Table” on our website giving an overview of Sam’s deep influence on the artist community in Santa Monica and beyond, and 2-3 mini-documentaries (5-8 minutes) that would tell the story of the art scene in LA at the time, and Sam’s impact through the words of the artists he mentored and worked with. 18th Street Arts Center would engage in a multi-tier social media and marketing campaign around the release of the videos.

The Los Angeles Department of Arts and Culture Arts Internship Program is now open, and the California Alliance for Arts Education is looking for a currently enrolled undergraduate (2 or 4-year) and community college students who reside or attend college in Los Angeles County.

I’m hoping you can share this paid opportunity with your students who are interested. During this time of substantial change in our communities and state, there is potential for the position to yield impactful results in local community advocacy.
