Earn $30 to talk about public spaces on campus!
Wednesday, February 24th, 2021Dear Bruins,
Want to earn $30 to share what changes you would like to see on campus when you return to campus?
As part of the Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center’s Public Space Activation Project, we will be holding a series of virtual focus groups (small group discussions) with UCLA graduate and undergraduate students to understand your needs for community space on campus. These focus groups will take place weeks 8 and 9 of this quarter.
Complete this short interest form to be eligible to participate http://bit.ly/UCLAfocusgroup
Participation is voluntary and your answers will be confidential. There will be about 8 participants in each focus group, which will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes through Zoom. Results from this study may help UCLA and other universities create better community spaces on campus.
You will receive a $30.00 gift card for your participation. The focus group will take place virtually through Zoom and will be offered at various times of the day, Monday through Friday.
Thank you very much for your consideration! If you have any questions about the project, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

MakeLA is recruiting!
MakeLA is a new organization at UCLA that aims to connect students from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) with the tools of the UCLA Residential Life MakerSpace. 3D printers, laser cutters, and other machines are for everyone, not just for students interested in engineering — the skills learned by working with these tools can foster creative problem solving skills and can demonstrate that with DIY projects, the sky’s the limit.
Winter Quarter (2021) will be MakeLA’s pilot quarter and we are looking for students who want to be mentors to the LAUSD high school students. You will get a chance to help them learn to use those tools and build a personal relationship with them!
