NEW STUDENT & TRANSITION PROGRAMS IS HIRING FOR SUMMER 2025—

Apply to become a New Student Advisor (NSA) and help welcome more than 10,500 new students and their families & supporters to UCLA! NSAs are a part of the New Student & Transition Programs (NSTP) team that oversees the implementation of New Student Orientation and New Parent & Family Orientation. These events serve to assist our new students in their transition to the university through academic advising, course enrollment, and introducing various campus resources, all while helping students build community as new Bruins. The NSA position is a paid position and one of the two types of positions available includes summer housing as part of the compensation. 

Being a New Student Advisor (NSA) is a big commitment with even bigger rewards!   

  • Build valuable skills, including effective communication, group facilitation, and working on a team 
  • Provide academic counseling and enrollment assistance
  • Make great friendships with students from various backgrounds
  • Develop relationships with professional staff who often serve as references for future jobs and recommenders for graduate/professional schools
