Passport Specialist roles are often some of the best-paid entry-level jobs in the federal government. The listed annual salary range for this position in San Francisco is $53,286 to $69,274. A Passport Specialist assignment is also a strong and lesser-known starting point for many other foreign service career paths, and the Department of State includes this language in the above listing: “At the successful conclusion of the program, Recent Graduates may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a Federal career or career-conditional position in the competitive service.”

To learn about open jobs and paid internships with all U.S. federal agencies through the Pathways Recent Graduates program, Bruins can visit WWW.USAJOBS.GOV and do a keyword search for ‘Pathways.’ Note that new entry-level openings are being announced daily, and the application period may be as brief as 5-7 days with a national applicant cap of 50-100 candidates.
