The Harvard-Westlake School was recently endowed with a generous gift from art philanthropist and alumna, Arlene Schnitzer. Through this endowment, we are charged to bring fresh artist voices into our school community, culminating in a month-long gallery show in the 670-square foot, Arlene Schnitzer Gallery, and a 30-40-minute artist talk to our middle school community in addition to a mini workshop with students. We are accepting proposals from emerging artists in Los Angeles whose work deals with identity and equity. Artists working in all media may apply.
The deadline for submissions is June 20th
Our selected artist will attend the gallery opening with students, parents and alumni, speak to our school community, and receive a $3,000 stipend.
Artist will be notified by the end of June 20 2019. Residency will occur sometime in early Fall.
