Position: Design Assistant

Rate: $18/hr
Work Hours: 5-8 hours per week. Must do 2 in-person shifts per week. Some flexible work-from-home options.

Job Description: Experience with flyer, yearbooks, or newspaper layouts? The UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies and the Institute of Transportation Studies is seeking a design student assistant for the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 academic years. This position is a good opportunity to develop hands-on experience in design, marketing, branding, and PR. You will assist us with all aspects of print and web communications, including web news, social media, report layout and distribution, branding and logos, and, more. This position is in two research centers that focus on transportation, environment, economic development, and housing.

Job Qualifications: Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and dependability area MUST. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Demonstrated ability in working with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Demonstrated ability to write quickly and well, for various media including social media. Good communication skills to interact with faculty, staff, and students.
