The MTV RE:DEFINE Award presented by The Goss-Michael Foundation was established to recognize excellence in contemporary art by a postgraduate fine arts student across a range of disciplines. Students from the current top 25 MFA programs across the globe in their final program year may submit their work for consideration. There are no restrictions regarding age, gender, national origin, or artistic medium. The Award is designed to provide a bridge of financial support and meaningful connections for an emerging artist from one of the world’s premier scholastic art programs as they transition into their professional career.
Applicants will be asked to submit up to 5 images and/or videos of ONE original artwork along with a short artist’s statement. The winner will be selected by The Goss-Michael Foundation team along with an international panel of art experts who will review and evaluate each applicant’s work, on the basis of both aesthetic and conceptual merit. Results will be announced live at the MTV RE:DEFINE event in Dallas, Texas, USA, on March 29, 2019.
