Applications Open for GRAPHITE Journal

GRAPHITE Journal is opening applications for new members this upcoming school year!

Graphite is a student-run organization that produces an interdisciplinary arts journal and blog with the support and mentorship of the academic programs staff. The organization is about to enter its twelfth year! Graphite is a unique initiative because it offers students a hands-on ways to learn about curatorial work, arts journalism, and publishing.

The UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening Children and Families is currently recruiting UCLA student volunteers, both undergraduate and graduate to remotely tutor children in foster care and other underserved communities. Calls for Submission: Asterisk* Journal!

Asterisk* Journal of Art, which is an art history and art publication started by students at Yale University last year, is seeking submissions! We manage one of the few peer-reviewed, intercollegiate, art history and art publications at the undergraduate level. You can access our first issue online: https://www.asteriskjournal.org. We are looking for high-quality essays that subvert traditional narratives in art and artworks that will offer new perspectives. These works can be a version or part of a course research paper/project, independent study, or honors thesis.

As the Fiction Editor of Glassworks, the literary magazine of Rowan University’s Master of Arts in Writing graduate program, I write to invite your students and colleagues to submit work to be considered for publication. Glassworks publishes print-ready artwork, nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and hybrid pieces, both digitally and in print. Inglewood Park Cemetery “City of Angels” Photo Contest

The contest will run from September 15 – November 30 and is open to anyone 18 and over. The theme of the contest is “City of Angels” featuring two sub categories:  “Pure Photography” for images employing the art of color or black and white photography with minimal evident post-processing or special effects; and “Creative Eye” which allows for greater imaging freedom.  The contest entry period is from September 15 through November 30 with judging in December.   And best of all, there’s no entry fee!
