Signal Fire Artist Residencies

Wide Open Studios is a program of Signal Fire, a nonprofit that provides wilderness residencies and retreats for artists using public land around the West. Aside from providing a transformative “expanded studio” art experience, building critical inquiry around the culture and ecology of the American West, and helping students develop their own resilience, our programs cultivate strong networks among a close (8-10 students) cohort of artists from around the country and the globe. We offer scholarships as well.
