Call for UCLA artists

My name is Tami Chalom and I am a Communications Major at UCLA. I am working on curating an art exhibition on UCLA campus around mid-March for my final project. The thematic focus of my exhibit is mental illness. I am looking for current or past student artists, who have done or are doing work on mental illness and would be interested in showing their art in my exhibition. I would be happy to talk in person or via email to explain why I am doing this, and why I believe mental illness is a huge and prevalent problem in American society, especially among college students. I believe art is one of the most unique and personal ways to portray the struggle with these disorders. I would love to hear how artists who create work on this topic feel about the subject. If you are interested, please reach out to me by February 15.  My email is tamichalom@g.ucla.edu and my cell is (973/885-9694). I am still working on locking down the venue, but the exhibit will likely be held at either the Kerckoff Art Gallery, the Fowler Museum, or Northern Lights around mid-March.

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Tami Chalom
