Window Project | opportunity for graduate art students at Gazelli Art House London

Friday, August 13th, 2021

I am Tina from Gazelli Art House, a commercial gallery in London. I would like to suggest a potential partnership between the gallery and UCLA. The Window Project was initiated specifically for MA students and recent graduates, and we would be happy to provide an opportunity for them to showcase their art as part of the gallery program.

The project is essentially a display of site-specific works on the windows of the gallery on Dover Street. We announce an open call and invite a jury panel to select a winner.  You can find more information and images of the previous editions here: https://gazelliarthouse.com/exhibitions/location/window-project/.

We already had partnerships with RCA, Central St Martins and Chelsea College of Art with the selection committee including Gavin Turk, Roland Cowan, Dylan Jones, Andrew Renton, Kirsty Ogg and Tabish Khan, Paul Haywood, Aurore Ogden and Sophie Hastings.

This year is the 10th year anniversary of the gallery, so we will partner with a few schools that our artists graduated from. Particularly, Jann Haworth graduated from UCLA and is represented by the gallery. If you’d be interested in providing this opportunity for your students and recent graduates, please let me know, I am happy to tell you more about the process and the timeline. mailto:tina@gazelliarthouse.com

Lois Lambert Call for Up-and-Coming Artists in Los Angeles

Deadline: September 7, 2021: 5pm PST

Exhibition

At Lois Lambert Gallery we support the pursuit of the arts as a career. We have seen how COVID-19 has made it even harder for young artists to get started. We want to provide the platform to encourage them continuing a career in the arts. We will be giving up-and-coming artists from the Los Angeles area the opportunity to participate in an exhibition at our upstairs gallery space. Beginning in November 2021, with exhibitions lasting two weeks each. Multiple exhibitions will be held. We hope to help artists build exhibition experience, sell work, and build connections with other artists in the area.

Submissions

We welcome submissions in any media style. Work must have been made in the last 2 years. Initial submissions must be made with digital images/videos and sent to info@loislambertgallery.com with the subject line, ‘CALL FOR YOUNG ARTISTS’. We recommend sending images of 6-8 works. Along with the JPGs, please submit a brief explanation of the work.

Artist Criteria

Must be between 18-30 years of age and located in Los Angeles

Selection Process & Notification

All submitted works will be considered by Lois Lambert Gallery. All artists who submit work for consideration will be notified of our decision by September 10, 2021. All decisions are final.

Important

Artists are responsible for delivering artwork ready-to-hang during installation. Each accepted artist will work with the exhibition team to assure the work is properly prepared for display. Artists are responsible for picking up their work after the exhibition closes.

Accepting Proposals For The 2022 Emerging Curator Program

Wednesday, November 4th, 2020

The Emerging Curator Program is designed to discover curatorial talent in Los Angeles and provides opportunities for emerging curators to partner with LACE. For the program’s seventh installment one project will be selected for presentation in spring 2022. This year, the program is accepting curatorial proposals centered on performance, rather than exhibition. Emerging Curators are encouraged to propose projects that can function as a live performance as well as be presented virtually. Proposals may be geared toward a single performance or a series of performances (keeping budget in mind.) Note: this call is specifically for curators and not artists submitting performance proposals of their own work.

Click here for more information about the Emerging Curator Program and apply.

Deadline to Submit: January 4, 2021.
