Submission Opportunity – Art Share LA

Art Share L.A. is a nonprofit gallery, artist residence, and performance space in the heart of the Arts District that serves emerging artists based in Los Angeles by providing a platform for up and coming creators to exhibit, perform, reside, and develop.

They have two upcoming shows that are slated for March and April of 2019, and the deadline to submit is January 11th, 2019.

Mosaic Literary Journal Publication Opportunity

Since 1959, Mosaic, the University of California, Riverside undergraduate art and literary journal, has featured wonderful fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, ten-minute plays, screenplays, and visual art. In collaboration with the Gluck Fellowship of the Arts Foundation, they work to celebrate a rich community of artists and writers, both locally and nationally.

They are excited to welcome contributions from University of California, Los Angeles with the hope of expanding its writing community. They would like to invite creative work submissions to the 58th annual edition of Mosaic. Mosaic accepts simultaneous submissions, and all pieces must be submitted electronically. Submissions are limited to 8,000 words of prose and 5 pieces of poetry.

Deadline for submissions is February 16th, 2019.

Norton Simon Museum Summer Internship

The Norton Simon Museum is looking for a college senior or recent graduate with a strong background in Art History and an interest in art museums and education for their Summer Museum Education Internship.  The internship is paid and offers a great introduction to museum careers, education, and LA museums.

Assistant Professor in Digital Photography – California State University San Marcos

The Art, Media, and Design Department at California State University San Marcos seeks a full-time tenure track candidate whose work is based in digital photography.

The candidate should demonstrate a professional record of exhibition in photographic practices and scholarly expertise in critical histories and theories of photography and representation. Hybrid practices that include photography are welcomed.

Minimum Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts or equivalent experience. Strong national/international exhibition record and minimum 2 years of college level teaching experience.

A review of applications will begin on January 25, 2019.

NOFLASH Video Show – Call for Time-Based Art

Hosted by the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the NOFLASH Video Show is dedicated to showcasing rigorous new work by emerging time-based artists and filmmakers, local and international.

The third annual NOFLASH is now open for submissions in the following categories: hybrid/experimental short films, narrative/documentary short films, feature film, moving-image installation/video art, live performance art and sound art. Last year, 25 works were selected from around 750 submissions, ranging from undergraduate students to working artists in nine different countries.

City of Fremont Call for Artists

The City of Fremont is seeking one sculpture to display for a period of two years, from May 2019 through May 2021, at our gateway location to Downtown Fremont.

This  temporary installation as part of our Downtown Fremont Public Art Program and is to focus on Community: Sharing Energy and Collaborating as its theme. The new piece will replace the Space Glow sculpture, scheduled to leave in May 2019.
