UCLA BruinCorps: Work-Study Opportunity

UCLA BruinCorps is a tutoring outreach program that hires work-study and non-workstudy students to provide tutoring across the greater Los Angeles area in elementary, middle schools and high schools. Our tutors provide in-class or after school tutoring in English/Language Arts or Math in one-on-one or small group settings.  Our mission is to not only give back to the Los Angeles community, but also to foster a sense of commitment to community service and provide civic engagement and leadership opportunities for UCLA undergraduate students.

UCLA BruinCorps is the largest work-study program on campus hiring over 150 work-study students annually. We are currently recruiting work-study students from a variety of fields for the 2021-2022 academic year. Attached is our program flyer, program FAQ and link tree to provide further information to interested students.  This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students to develop leadership skills, give back to the greater Los Angeles community and build a sense of community on campus. We are hosting three info sessions tomorrow, and week 8! Corita Art Center Getty Marrow Internship

Getty Marrow Digital Collections and Research Internship

The Corita Art Center is seeking an intern to support our ongoing endeavors to preserve, organize, and engage the archives and artworks of Corita Kent. Our goal is to make these collections accessible to historians, curators, and generations of enthusiasts to come.

The Getty Marrow Digital Collections and Research Intern will work directly with the Curator and Collections Manager to support a long-term project to digitize, describe, and make accessible the Corita Art Center’s archival materials, including a collection of over 15,000 35mm slides and other records documenting Corita Kent and the Immaculate Heart College during the decades of the 50s and 60s. This project will include conducting research and drafting historical notes and summaries on the artist’s commissions, exhibitions, and artworks as well as updating biographical information. The Intern will also support with the general organization and management of the Corita Art Center’s art and archival collections, including ongoing data entry in CAC’s Filemaker Pro database and online collections page. This work may also include the physical handling, relocation, and condition assessment of artworks and archival materials on-site.

in the visual and performing arts, creative writing, animation and film for talented artists of high school age. CSSSA
provides a supportive environment in which students hone acquired skills and explore new techniques and ideas for an
intense and exciting learning experience. The school was created by the California Legislature, and held its first
session in 1987. Its purpose is to provide a training ground for future artists who wish to pursue careers in the arts and

GSRC is Hiring a Web Developer – Application Deadline March 12th

UCLA Graduate Student Resource Center (GSRC) is looking for a student web developer (grad or undergrad) to join our team. This position will support and work closely with the GSRC staff to help assist with the development and maintenance of the Graduate Student Resource Center website, work with digital platforms and media such as CCLE, Zoom, YouTube, among others, digital media-related projects and content creation, and other projects as assigned.

The Graduate Student Resource Center serves as an information and referral hub for all graduate and professional students at UCLA. The student web developer position will help to make a positive impact on the web presence and access to resources available to students through the GSRC.

Pay: $17 per hour

Duration: Beginning Spring quarter 2021 through the end of September 2021

Student Intern Position with Criminal Justice Program at UCLA

Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented undergraduate, graduate, or law student to assist the Criminal Justice Program in working on an exciting new juvenile justice know your rights technology project called Knowledge is Power in collaboration with Hack for Los Angeles and Code for America. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work closely with youth, lawyers, law professors, and coding experts.

The student will be responsible for engaging 3-4 teens/young people in the development of this tool through regular meetings and facilitated learning sessions. The student will be required to attend a weekly meeting with the entire project team. The student will also be responsible for editing and creating content for the know your rights tool, in collaboration with the team. This is a 6-month paid position with the opportunity to extend dependent on acquiring additional funding.

CalFresh Initiative is Hiring a Graphic Designer!

The CalFresh Initiative at UCLA is hiring for a graphic designer! This position is a part-time job that will require students to work around 10-15 hours/week. The designer will help create graphics for events and infographics, as well as run the social media platforms. The designer will also work on other projects to help fight food insecurity on campus and learn how to assist students with enrolling in the CalFresh program. We are looking for designers with experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar programs who have past experience in graphic design.
