Founded at the University of California, Berkeley, our publication shares innovative critical work biannually to foster intellectual discussion among an international network of students. As art historians, we are committed to diversifying the field and developing intersectional critical analyses of the artistic canon. see/saw is especially open to considerations of art and artists that have been historically erased and underemphasized.

Tuesday, February 20th, 2024The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) in Tampa, FL, is thrilled to kick off its 2024 International Photography Competition, sponsored by Tampa International Airport (TPA) and Visit Tampa Bay (VTB). Now in its 13th year, this global event invites photographers worldwide to submit their work for a chance to be part of an exclusive exhibition at TPA. With categories ranging from People/Portraits to Abstract Photography, the competition promises to showcase diverse artistic visions. Submissions are open from February 5 to May 5, 2024, offering photographers an opportunity to gain recognition and prizes, including a $1000 award for the Best in Competition. Our mission is to merge education curriculums with technology to enhance learning experiences in schools. We are an interdisciplinary team from across Harvard, dedicated to creating immersive, narrative-style games for children aged 9-12.
Our tools are designed to foster scientific reasoning and enhance information/media literacy.

Tuesday, February 6th, 2024The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) is proud to announce its 2024 public service announcement (PSA) contest, PSAid.
The contest challenges college students to produce PSAs that creatively articulate why “Cash is Best” when helping people affected by international disasters. Cash contributions allow relief organizations to purchase exactly what is most urgently needed to help survivors.
The contest is designed to fit in the curriculum of communications, graphic design, digital media and/or advertising classes, but we welcome anyone who wants to enter.

Schoenberg Art Walk Applications – NOW OPEN!
Thursday, February 1st, 2024On behalf of the Alpert Student Advisory Board, we would like to extend an invitation to apply to present at the second annual Schoenberg Art Walk on Friday, April 5th! The purpose of our event is to connect students across the artistic schools at UCLA with one another and create avenues for future interdepartmental collaboration. While students will be prioritized, we welcome and encourage submissions from faculty and staff as well!
The “Schoenberg Art Walk” is a self-guided art showcase which aims to inform and engage student creative works by exhibition. The well-loved, annual event is a large-scale, student-run showcase that features artists from the Herb Alpert School of Music, School of the Arts and Architecture, as well as the School of Theater, Film and Television. We had an excellent audience turnout last year, and received an abundance of glowing feedback from both featured artists and guests.
This event will take place in the Schoenberg Music Building and will comprise an eclectic collection of musical acts, solo and/or group dance, visual art, film, theater, and much more. Selected “exhibits” will be interspersed throughout the building, while Schoenberg Art Walk attendees will roam the hallways and classrooms to interact with artists and appreciate their works. To apply to be a featured artist, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, February 16th @11:59 PM. Thank you! We look forward to showcasing your art to a wider audience and connecting you with other creative minds at UCLA.
