In hope of promoting sustained service and advocacy efforts among Bruins, USAC’s Community Service Commission is organizing SERVOCACY FEST this Friday, October 14 from 1pm to 3pm at Bruin Plaza!
The event will feature 15 student groups who will each host interactive activities and games for you to find out more about important social justice issues as well as relevant resources or opportunities for you to get started on service. Some of the activities include making origami for care packages designed for the houseless community, writing cards for the patients of St Jude, learning about educational disparities, neurodiversity, the brain injury community, issues regarding incarceration and more.
Earn stamps on your stamp card from visiting booths and redeem attractive prizes like laptop stickers, notepads, drinks, cookies or Serve LA shirts every 3, 6 and 9 booths you visit 🙂 Find out more on @uclacsc on Instagram, and see you this Friday!
This event is organized in partnership with Volunteer Center, China/Community Care Bruins (CCB), Good Clothes Good People (GCGP), Vietnamese Community Health (VCH), Hunger Project, Casa Heiwa and Angelina Mentorship Program (CHAMPS), Liberty in North Korea (LiNK), Alternative Breaks, All Brains, BruinHope, Pediatric AIDS Coalition, Bruin Belles Service Association, UCLA Synapse, Matriculate at UCLA, Asian Pacific Health Corps (APHC) and Reforming Education to Diminish Incarceration (REDI)
