Temporary roles at Frieze LA

 

We are seeking temporary staff with an interest in contemporary art to fill the below roles at this year’s Frieze LA, which takes place February 12 to 16 at Paramount Pictures Studios.

Please outline your availability during the week of the fair (February 10th to February 16th), as most positions require at least one day of training prior to the opening of the fair.

Please specify the position for which you are applying in the subject line of your email (you are welcome to list more than one position). If you are interested in working at the fair but are not certain which department would be the best fit, you can write “General Application” in the subject line of your email.

Applicants will be interviewed and positions filled on a rolling basis however interested candidates are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience. All applicants must have a valid US Social Security number and the right to work in the US.

Compensation ranges from $19 to $25 per hour.

Open positions:

 

VIP (Program greeters & desk assistants)

To staff the onsite and offsite VIP events/the VIP desks at the entrances to the fair, checking VIPs names at the door and responding to any queries; to answer enquiries about the VIP program. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Info & Sales Assistants

To explain tickets, hand out fair collateral, answer questions from visitors, manage stock and record sales. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Wayfinding

To direct guests around the fair to ensure a seamless fair experience; to answer questions that visitors may have in relation to the fair. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Distribution

To assist the marketing team with set up and onsite deliveries. To manage stock and distribution of all free print material at the fair. This is a back of house role that can be physically demanding.

 

Parking Attendant

To direct guests in the parking lots, handing out umbrellas and answering guest questions where necessary. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

 

 

 

Cloakroom

To implement and execute a methodical system to ensure the smooth drop off and collection of items at both the coat check and bag drop. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Projects Invigilator

To work with the Senior Projects Producer across all of the gallery supported/commissioned work on the Paramount backlot. This can include managing queueing systems for specific works or invigilation. Answering guest questions about the work. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Pass Administrator

To issue passes to all the accredited personnel. This role needs to have a good understanding of the security issues surrounding the Fair and liaise with security as necessary. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.

 

Organisers Office Assistant

To answer the phone in the organisers office responding to enquiries. To ensure that the office is always clean and tidy, and complete other tasks when necessary as directed by the Office Manager. This is a back of house role, however may require offsite errands on an ad hoc basis.

 

Magazine Shop Assistant

To sell copies and subscriptions of magazines & catalogues. This is a public facing position that is incredibly important to the overall visitor experience of Frieze.
