Internship Position Available: LA-based Art Advisory seeks Intern

SZ Advisory is seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented and proactive individual to support Principal Art Advisor Sharón Zoldan in matters regarding client accounts, scheduling, and fieldwork. The position offers a hands-on, dynamic introduction to the inner workings of the commercial side of the art world. Applicants will gain insight into the relationships between artists, gallerists and other art colleagues. Interns will be expected to communicate with dealers, collect and prepare materials for clients, conduct research, maintain databases, coordinate itineraries, keep calendar current, and cull a variety of auction houses as resources. This is an ideal opportunity to work within a fast-paced organization and build experience in the field. Discretion is of the utmost importance.

Placement Qualifications and Eligibility:
Candidates should be in their junior or senior year with a serious intention to pursue a career in the arts. Prior experience in a gallery or arts related organization is favorable, but not a prerequisite. A base knowledge of art history and contemporary art is preferred. Applicants should possess a motivated attitude and a keen attention to presentation and punctuality. Commitment to the position is vital. Excellent oral and written communication skills are expected of candidates, which include a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Knowledge of QuickBooks, Photoshop, and WordPress is a plus. Applicant must have a computer/ laptop.

Terms: Time requirement is currently 1 – 3 day(s) a week. Schedule and hours are flexible.

Location/Transportation: The applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, as he or she may need to travel to and from project venues, as well as run errands off-site.
