I work at Santa Monica Nazarene Church and we are currently looking for someone to run our sound board. Not sure if the students are required to find an internship but this would be a great opportunity to hone their skills in sound and gain some solid experience.

Title: SOUND TECHNICIAN
Responsible to: Creative Arts Pastor
Type: Unpaid Internship
Purpose: Produce the best possible atmosphere for Sunday worship through sound reinforcement. This includes, but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey, and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
1. Able to work in a team setting and take directions.
2. Either has experience mixing audio successfully in a live environment or is currently attending training in sound and mixing field.
3. Have good communication skills.
4. Ability to think quickly and react/trouble-shoot properly.
5. Maintain calm and collected attitude
Length of Service: 6 month minimum. If intern is interested in staying longer he/she is welcome to upon discretion of Creative Arts Pastor
Time Required: 9am-12pm Sunday mornings. Occasional special services (Good Friday, Ash Wednesday, Etc.)
Responsibilities
Pre-service
1. Arrive promptly at 9am.
2. Perform proper sound check; includes gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings, and the eq/mixing process.
3. Trouble shoot reoccurring sound issues.
4. Work with Creative Arts Pastor to create ideal sound quality and meet band needs.
During Service
1. Responsible for adjusting sound levels during service as needed.
2. Run media slides as needed.
3. Stay present and focused for duration of Service.
4. Responsible for recording the service.
Post-service
1. Report sound issues/broken equipment to Creative Arts Pastor as needed
