Studio-based<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>professional training.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A Focused Studio-Based Intensive workshop. This 8 days program explores sculptural self \u2013 portraiture through structured observation and combines artistic anatomy, character transformation, drawing and sculptural development in a structured studio environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>PARTICIPANTS WILL:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Study cranial structure and facial planes through artistic anatomy \u2022<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use drawing as an analytical tool for sculptural construction \u2022<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop a structurally grounded self-portrait in clay \u2022 Transform the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>portrait into a character-based interpretation \u2022 Create a frontal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>mould of the portrait \u2022 Apply finishing techniques and mount the final<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>sculpture on a base<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Self-portraiture provides a direct and accessible point of study, allowing participants to observe and understand structure through their own features. From this grounded starting point, the process moves into transformation, where the portrait is developed beyond likeness into a more interpretative, character-driven work. By completion, each participant will have produced a resolved sculptural artwork suitable for professional documentation and portfolio use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PROGRAMME STRUCTURE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>40 studio hours\/6-10 July Monday to Friday and 13-15 July Monday to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wednesday \u2022 Studio-based instruction and critique \u2022 Maximum 5 participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a tuition-based intensive workshop. It is not a residency programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Self Portrait Study. Anatomy and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INSTRUCTOR<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Neil Bacon is a sculptor and founder of Art Hive Athens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He holds a Master of Technology in Fine Arts (Sculpture) from Nelson Mandela University (South Africa).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He has served as lecturer\u2019s assistant and metal sculpting tutor, while established and managed the university forge. His teaching emphasizes structural clarity, material understanding and disciplined studio methodology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>VENUE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The workshop takes place at Art Hive Athens, an independent sculpture studio, owned by Neil Bacon, offering structured nine-month programmes and private tuition. It is located in Athen\u2019s Center, walking distance from a blue metro line station (2-3min.).
