With California ranking among the lowest states for lung cancer screening, our mission is to<strong>connect high-risk community members to local screening centers<\/strong>, driving progress towards achieving the success seen in regions like Boston. We partner and work closely with physicians at UCLA Health and across the state and country to plan awareness events and educate patients and the community about lung cancer screening. We are also currently working on introducing a bill to the CA legislature to improve awareness of lung cancer screening among high-risk individuals.<br><br><strong>Who is welcome to join ALCSI?<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>ANYONE!&nbsp;While we are committed to making an impact in medicine, we are looking for anyone passionate in policy change, legislation, journalism, and all efforts community outreach. If you are majoring in any humanities&#8211;from political science, communications, English, art, to film and TV&#8211;we have multiple committees to suit your interests, and we highly encourage you to consider joining our efforts!
