This is an entry-level position, approximately 20 hours per week (Wednesday-Saturday schedule). There is some flexibility on schedule, however availability for Saturday openings is highly preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualified candidates will have experience in customer service, retail, administrative support, or other relevant job experience. Familiarity with Mac software and hardware, Google Suite, and some experience with Adobe CS or similar software is required. Candidates with a 2-year or 4-year college degree are preferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Gallery Assistant assists in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the gallery. An interest in contemporary art, strong organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail are required. The position involves inventory management, marketing materials updating, database entry, assisting during installation week, and artist and gallery visitor support. We will train on gallery specific software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Artwork database entry and updating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 General office and gallery upkeep<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Assist during show installation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Basic website updates for new shows<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Coordinate and update PR including newsletters, email marketing, format press releases, and calendar listings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Assist with gallery social media posts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Assist collectors and artists in person and by email and phone<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Degree in Art or Art History or equivalent work experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Basic graphic design experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Some experience handling artwork is preferred<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to lift 20lbs required<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Strong computer skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to multi-task and prioritize, switch gears quickly, strong communication skills, self starter and self-directed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This position is hourly and pay scale is $20-$24\/hour depending on experience.
