The School of Art & Design + Performing Arts Division at\u00a0Alfred University\u2019s BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Artist-in-Residence program provides early-career BIPOC artists with time and space to dive deeply into their artistic research and practice, and creative endeavors. Set within a bucolic valley of the Finger Lakes region, the residency occurs during Alfred University Summer Arts programming, providing opportunities for artists to also participate in a fully funded workshop at the School of Art & Design, as well as to interact with other local and visiting resident artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early to mid-career artists who identify as Black, Indigenous and\/or People of Color.
Dates & length of residency<\/strong>
June 23 – July 18 – Each residency lasts a minimum of 2 weeks and up to 4 weeks.
Grant<\/strong>
Up to $2,500 sliding grants will be provided to cover travel, meals, or supplies. -> 2 weeks $1,500 grant \/ 3 weeks $2,000 \/ 4 weeks $2,500.
Housing<\/strong>:
Furnished 1 bedroom campus housing with access to full kitchen and laundry facilities.
Studio<\/strong>:
Studio spaces are provided within Cohen Center for the Arts on Main Street, with available options on the 1st (2900 sq ft) or 2nd<\/sup> (3300 sq ft) floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please submit one PDF file, consisting of CV, portfolio (max 20 slides), and letter of interest (max 2 pages) detailing: 1) project proposal during the residency program, 2) personal\/artist statement, and 3) contact information.
