We invite MFA students from greater Los Angeles to explore this dynamic through their art. We seek thought-provoking works that address the current state of politics, reflect on societal issues, and engage viewers in meaningful dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>DUOS<\/strong>&nbsp;is the 1500 sq ft studio and screening room of Quinn Matthews, a current Photo and Media MFA student at the California Institute of the Arts.&nbsp;<em>Politics of Perspective<\/em>&nbsp;is the first exhibition with the intention of the shared space to encourage discourse and dialogue among the greater Los Angeles MFA programs through periodic programming over the next two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What We&#8217;re Looking For:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Works that respond to themes such as democracy, activism, social justice, identity, and the impact of politics on daily life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pieces that reflect on the electoral process, voter engagement, and the socio-political climate leading up to the election.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All media welcome: painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, and mixed media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submission Guidelines:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong>&nbsp;Open to all MFA students currently enrolled in the greater Los Angeles Region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Artwork Limit:<\/strong>&nbsp;Up to two pieces per artist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Format:<\/strong>&nbsp;Please submit high-quality images of your work along with a brief artist statement (max. 500 words) explaining how your work relates to the exhibition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deadline for Submissions:<\/strong>&nbsp;October 18<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submission Method:<\/strong>&nbsp;Email submissions to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:quinnmatthews@students.calarts.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">quinnmatthews@students.calarts.edu<\/a>&nbsp;with the subject line &#8220;Politics of Perspective Submission.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Selection Process:<\/strong>&nbsp;A panel of students and professors will review all submissions.
