Our mission is to honor the legacy of these renowned artists by maintaining their creative spaces and promoting their artistic contributions to the world and generating a dialogue between Surrealism and contemporary art through exhibitions, education, events, and residencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position:<\/strong> Internship (Unpaid, with the possibility of stipend based on funding)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong> Flexible, minimum commitment of 3 months, with potential for extension<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist in organizing and cataloging artworks, documents, and artifacts related to Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning and related exhibitions at the Los Angeles space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn the ins and outs of operating an arts nonprofit exhibition space<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help with research projects related to the artists&#8217; lives and work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support outreach and fundraising efforts of Chez Max et Dorothea<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist in planning and executing events, exhibitions, and fundraising programs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with our team to develop educational materials and programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to social media and website content creation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passion for the arts, art history and a strong interest in Max Ernst, Dorothea Tanning, contemporary art or Surrealism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent organizational and communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proficiency in French is a plus, but not required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hands-on experience in arts nonprofit management and preservation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of professionals and scholars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Networking opportunities in the arts and cultural sector<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexible schedule and potential for some occasional remote work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong> Rolling basis \u2013 Spring Internships inquire immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to Apply:<\/strong> Please send a resume and cover letter outlining your interest in the internship and relevant experience to info@chezmaxdorothea.com.
