The position is designed for a total of 24 hours spread across Mondays, Tuesdays &amp; Thursdays, though exact days &amp; hours are negotiable. The beginning rate is $25\/hour, with planned raises tied to performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The primary duties of the role will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Layout &amp; design for various publications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Product development (including apparel, merchandise, posters &amp; print), from early-stage mockups to final production files<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with artists on limited-edition publications &amp; products<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working closely with printers on shepherding files to print<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ideal candidates have a degree in Graphic Design, at least 1 year of experience working in an art-related design role, have high proficiency in &amp; professional experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator &amp; Photoshop, as well as some familiarity with the Los Angeles art world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other beneficial traits include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professional experience with typesetting &amp; copy editing for books &amp; magazines<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professional experience with photo editing &amp; retouching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with producing print-ready files for screen printing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being detail-oriented &amp; organized<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to come up with a diverse array of rough design options quickly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Public relations &amp; sales skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A unique aesthetic sensibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of contemporary art history<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A love for art books<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested candidates should email their resume &amp; a portfolio (as PDFs) to <a href=\"mailto:info@apogeegraphics.la\">info@apogeegraphics.la<\/a>.
