SMPREP has<br>an over 90-year history of educating students for a life of faithful citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><br>Saint Monica Preparatory is seeking a full-time Art teacher for the 2023 &#8211; 2024 school year.<br>Full-time faculty responsibilities include teaching five classes, serving as a grade-level advisor,<br>and participating in co-curricular activities. Opportunities to integrate interdisciplinary projects<br>and showcases are woven within the curriculum framework.<br>Job Responsibilities &amp; Duties<br>Full-time faculty responsibilities include:<br>\u25cf Teaching five classes with the ability to communicate, create and execute lessons in<br>different forms\/mediums of art (including digital) that are engaging for high school-level<br>students.<br>\u25cf Serving as a grade-level advisor committed to students&#8217; social and emotional<br>development.<br>\u25cf Participating in co-curricular activities, including moderating student clubs and\/or<br>organizations and supervising grade-level retreats.<br>Job Skills &amp; Qualifications:<br>The ideal candidate will:<br>\u25cf Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment that reflects<br>SMPREP&#8217;s core values and allows our diverse student body to grow and thrive.<br>\u25cf Exhibit a passion for content knowledge and a range of pedagogical approaches while<br>teaching students Art across various grade levels within an in-person, blended learning<br>environment.<br>\u25cf Create an environment in the classroom and in all areas of co-curricular responsibility<br>that nurtures the development of the whole student.<br>\u25cf Show a willingness to engage students in meaningful learning experiences and foster a<br>project-based learning environment.<br>\u25cf Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an integrated, meaningful curriculum<br>and student learning experiences.<br>\u25cf Provide constructive and effective feedback on students\u2019 artwork to improve<br>performance.<br>Desirable Qualifications:<br>\u25cf MFA degree, Education or related field and\/or California Single-subject Teaching<br>Credential<br>\u25cf 3-5 years of teaching experience<br>\u25cf Experience with collaborative curriculum design, ideally including backward design<br>based on clearly defined learning objectives, and experience planning student-centered<br>lessons that are differentiated to meet the needs of all learners<br>\u25cf Experience providing instruction that prioritizes communicative and task-based<br>pedagogical approaches<br>\u25cf Experience in the development and implementation of project-based learning curriculum<br>Requirements:<br>\u25cf Bachelor\u2019s degree in Fine Art<br>\u25cf Ability to teach Intro level &#8211; honors and AP Studio level Art classes<br>\u25cf Experience using instructional technology<br>\u25cf Ability to convey enthusiasm for the subject matter and develop a positive rapport with<br>students<br>\u25cf Strong interpersonal and communication skills<br>\u25cf Willingness to contribute to school life outside of the classroom<br>Compensation &amp; Process:<br>\u25cf $52,000 &#8211; $92,000<br>\u25cf Send resume and cover letter to searchcommittee@smprep.org<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Description: Saint Monica Preparatory (SMPREP) is a parish, coeducational TK-12 dayschool, a ministry of St. Monica Catholic Community in the heart of Santa Monica.
