{"id":7204,"date":"2022-01-04T14:02:26","date_gmt":"2022-01-04T22:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.art.ucla.edu\/?p=7204"},"modified":"2022-01-04T14:31:00","modified_gmt":"2022-01-04T22:31:00","slug":"covid-19-recovery-video-competition-a-together-for-la-collaborative-deadline-may-1-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jobs.art.ucla.edu\/?p=7204","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19 Recovery Video Competition, a Together For LA Collaborative (Deadline: May 1, 2022)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u200bThe Institute for Sustainable Development, as a part of the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.laedc.org\/coronavirus\" target=\"_blank\">Together for LA Collaborative (TFLA),<\/a>\u00a0is calling for LA university students and cinematic artists to submit videos telling the COVID-19 stories of local small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Students are encouraged to&nbsp;interview and collect footage from 1-5 small businesses&nbsp;in LA City and\/or LA County, specifically those that are&nbsp;women- and diverse-owned, on their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as their successes, struggles, responses, and solutions. Topic ideas are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The COVID-19 story of a small business succeeding in a vulnerable\/at-risk community<\/li><li>Economic recovery story of a neighborhood<\/li><li>A community&#8217;s success story that others can learn from<\/li><li>Calling attention to a business or neighborhood that is still struggling to recover<\/li><li>And other topics as appropriate<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can work in teams or individually, but&nbsp;only one submission per team lead&nbsp;is permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please indicate on the submission form that&nbsp;all video participants have consented&nbsp;to their participation and the use of their likeness in Together for LA marketing and materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Video submissions are limited to&nbsp;2-4 minutes&nbsp;and must be in&nbsp;mp4 format.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Non-English submissions are&nbsp;welcome, though English subtitles are required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Selection and Awards Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bA jury consisting of representatives from the Together for LA Steering Committee will judge and evaluate submissions. The best submissions will be&nbsp;posted on the ISD YouTube channel&nbsp;and awarded a&nbsp;special feature&nbsp;by Together for LA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to four jury prizes of $2,500&nbsp;are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;$5,000 prize&nbsp;will be awarded to the video with the&nbsp;most views, as counted on YouTube, by the end of the competition in May 2022.
