Each Market will feature a variety of performance (music, dance, spoken word and more), local food and beverage, movies, booths for student groups and interactive activities and installations for students and the community to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In January, our Market theme will be Winter Light. At the start of the Winter Quarter, the days may be shorter, but we want to brighten up Broxton Ave. with a dynamic and immersive environment of art, entertainment, and activities built around the theme of light. Winter Light celebrates the start of a new year with the spirit of hope and creation of memorable experiences for Bruins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation in this event will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.<br>Deadline to Submit for Participation: Fri., Nov. 19<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Details:<br>WHAT:<br>\u2022 1st Thursdays Market: Winter Light<br>\u2022 Thursday, January 6<br>\u2022 Broxton Ave between Westwood Blvd &amp; Weyburn Ave<br>\u2022 6:00 p.m. \u2013 9:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>PROJECT LOGISTICS:<br>\u2022 Project must incorporate light and add to the optimism and hope of the overall event theme.<br>\u2022 Installations with audience interactivity are highly encouraged!<br>\u2022 Stipend: $1,000 per installation, individual or group collaboration, and inclusive of participation and the budget to create the work itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>FINER DETAILS:<br>\u2022 Installations will be outdoors, placed on pavement (potentially uneven)<br>\u2022 Space Allotment: 5&#8242; x 5&#8242; with no height restriction<br>o If projection is included, let us know and we can discuss more space<br>\u2022 Access to power is available, if needed<br>\u2022 Specific site selection will occur in concert with the event production team.<br>\u2022 Installation and removal will be supported by the event production team.
