\nSENATE ASSISTANT (One position available: Work Study Job # 5350-1)<\/p>\n

JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nThe Academic Senate is seeking one (1) student assistant to support office functions and projects. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, adding data to spreadsheets, conducting basic research, organizing electronic documents, proofreading written materials, preparing correspondence, providing support for Academic Senate meetings, updating the Academic Senate website, creating graphic designs, and processing awards applications. Working hours for Summer Sessions A and C will average 10\u201315 hours per week.<\/p>\n

The Academic Senate is the vehicle through which the faculty share in the governance of the University through participation in its standing committees. www.senate.ucla.edu<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) \u00a0Proactive, dependable, and highly organized.<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Skills in working independently and collaboratively with others.<\/p>\n

3) \u00a0Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.<\/p>\n

4) \u00a0Strong communication skills, including drafting documents and proofreading.<\/p>\n

5) \u00a0Strong attention to detail.<\/p>\n

6) \u00a0Interest in learning new technology. Web-editing experience is preferred but not required.<\/p>\n

7) \u00a0Ability to work in a diverse workplace.<\/p>\n

HIRING AND PAYMENT DETAILS<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) \u00a0Pay is $15.00 \/ hour.<\/p>\n

2) \u00a0Employment period is June 27 through September 18, 2021, with a strong possibility of<\/p>\n

continuing through the 2021\u201322 academic year for high-performing assistants.<\/p>\n

3) \u00a0Work Study strongly preferred. (NOTE: Work study is part of the financial aid package. Contact Financial Aid if you are not sure if you have work study.)<\/p>\n

4) \u00a0Hours are scheduled between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n

5) \u00a0Position is fully remote.<\/p>\n
