The School of Art, Art History and Design invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. The successful candidate will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in B.A., B.F.A., M.A. and M.F.A programs. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
This is a unique and dynamic interdisciplinary position that requires a diverse set of skills and expertise to bridge traditional media disciplines and interdisciplinary media curriculum within the School of Art, Art History, and Design. In particular, the School seeks a faculty member whose practice is rooted in scientific observations and are reflected in drawing, intermedia, and critical writing. This individual should deeply understand the international art discourse within contemporary art. This person will be responsible for teaching students how to effectively engage in interdisciplinary inquiry to create innovative and thought-provoking works of art and develop new curricular opportunities.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of both traditional media drawing techniques as well as current directions of research-informed mixed media explorations, measurement/mapping, and media ecologies, with sensitivity to the ways art impacts community and social practice.
