The Division of Ceramic Art seeks candidates for a full-time Assistant Professor position of Ceramics. The successful candidate will be motivated to join a faculty team working across and at the intersections of ceramic research in fine art, craft, and design. A successful candidate will be immersed in ceramic art as a core part of their practice, have a clear dedication to working as an educator with a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and may be at any stage in their career. Experience and creative practice employing other materials or crossing over into other disciplines is fully supported but the candidate’s teaching will emphasize their foundation in ceramic material and contribute to expanding education in ceramic methodologies at Alfred. At the graduate level, candidates need not be fluent in every technical realm but will have the conceptual competency to support the full diversity of directions graduate students explore in their studio practice. Additionally, we encourage applications from studio artists with any of the following competencies or interests: craft/art/cultural theory; writing /publishing; glaze chemistry/material science; digital methodologies/technologies; program conceptualizing and building. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PHOTOGRAPHY
 
The Division of Expanded Media seeks a candidates for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Photography. Candidates should be motivated to join a faculty team focusing on student success across the Division of Expanded Media & the School of Art & Design. The successful candidate will be able to shape the photography program within the division of Expanded Media & the School of Art & Design. Candidates are expected to have an active exhibition record at the national and international level and an engagement with the issues of contemporary photography and visual culture. We seek applicants whose practice is immersed in an expansive definition of photography. Applicants must possess a background in analog and digital photographic processes, photographic history and theory, and a strong interest in teaching in a multi-disciplinary program. Faculty will teach introductory through advanced levels of photography and as part of faculty rotation in the first year of the Foundations Program. The position will begin in August 2025.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR VIDEO
The Division of Expanded Media seeks a candidates for a full time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Video Art. Candidates should be motivated to join a collaborative faculty team focused on student success. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the practice and instruction of Video Art focused on synchronized multi-screen projection and video installations. The candidate’s work should demonstrate solid visual and performative abilities. The candidate will have a deep knowledge of the history and theories of Video Art with culturally diverse perspectives. The unique video art studios are purpose-built, allowing students to work experimentally across various time-based, performative, and intuitive art-making strategies. We seek a candidate dedicated to using the video art studio in their teaching and studio practice. The candidate will be willing to work collaboratively across the School of Art and Design disciplines and other disciplines within the Division of Expanded Media. Faculty will teach in Video Art and as part of faculty rotation in the first year of the Foundations Program.  The position will begin in August 2025. Deadline for receipt of materials Jan 5th, 2025.
