Call for Submissions

Neon Door is a new immersive literary space. We are currently accepting submissions for our inaugural exhibit Emotional Nudity, which debuts in Fall-Winter 2021.

Please send works in the following categories:
Prose (fiction or nonfiction): up to 7,000 words
Poetry: up to 5 poems
Music: up to 1 album, around 15 tracks

Visual arts/Graphic shorts: up to 10 images

Video: up to 5 minutes long

The name Neon Door is derived from the founder’s favorite childhood manga Doraemon, in which exists a pink door that allows you to travel anywhere instantaneously simply by stepping across its threshold, from your bedroom to the classroom, or from the closet to outer space, as long as you are able to imagine the other side. At Neon Door, we believe in art’s power to open doors, manifest worlds, transport and transcend.
Simultaneous submissions are allowed and encouraged. Please notify us if your work has been accepted elsewhere. We also accept reprints, however we cannot offer monetary compensation for them. Thank you for your understanding. Submissions for the exhibit are open now through September 1. Submissions for the columns are ongoing. Your work will be considered for both.

We are especially excited to review and promote works by new and emerging authors and artists—we would love it if you could include our call for submission in your newsletter and share it with your MFA students.
