Call for Graphic Designer for Aleph Journal (Apply by February 26)

ALL ABOUT ALEPH:
Aleph is UCLA’s official journal publishing research in the humanities, behavioral sciences and social sciences. Run by undergraduates, Aleph publishes select submissions online and in print with the support of our sponsor, the UCLA Undergraduate Research Center – Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. As a student-run journal, Aleph provides all UCLA undergraduates the chance to join its staff and gain experience in outreach, editing, design, and publishing.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The graphic designer will be in charge of redesigning Aleph’s 2020-2021 edition in collaboration with the Chief Layout Editor. This position will also require collaboration with the Editorial Board and the class to create the cover for this year’s edition.

  • Excellent addition to any resume!
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with InDesign required (in addition, a working knowledge of Photoshop and other Adobe products recommended)
  • Availability to meet spring quarter, Tuesdays 6-8 p.m.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, work independently, and follow through on assignments
  • Ability to respond to emails and deadlines in a timely manner
