18th Street Arts Center Development Intern

18th Street Arts Center is the largest artist residency program in Southern California. We host 30+ international artists a year, and have 20 local artists and organizations on our campus. We are a small staff, and consistently need enthusiastic arts-lovers to help us support artists and provoke public dialogue!

REPORTS TO: Executive Director and Development Associate

TIME COMMITMENT: Minimum 3-month commitment of 8 hours per week. Schedule is flexible.

LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA. Partial telecommuting.

COMPENSATION: Volunteer. College credit possible; check with your academic advisor to make arrangements.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Development Associate, the Development Intern will assist with special events, communications, and support our team in all areas of fundraising. The internship provides a detailed understanding of donor relations, event planning, prospect research and outreach, and fundraising strategy. Intern will gain valuable training and real world experience on NationBuilder and MobileCause platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be highly detailed and organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to learn the details of fundraising, event planning, and creative thinking. Experience with annual fund, alumni, or donor programs a plus, but not required.
